WORKSHOPS
& BUSINESSES
The
future workshops & businesses will serve as dorms and classrooms
for our elementary school until the main building is built.
With another $26,000 or 21.000€
we can finish it. If you'd like to contribute, please mark your
donation with "building fund". Ways
to donate on the left.
BLESSING
THE VILLAGE CHILDREN
Last
time I introduced 14 new children from the village
of Dara to you that we had just taken into our sponsorship
program. All of them had had to drop out of school
because of tragedies like a parent dying
or fleeing the north of Mali, and thanks to our sponsorship program
they are now back in school. Since then we were
able to add four more girls and send them to school,
thanks to a German NGO that has girls on their heart. However, seven
boys are still looking for sponsors. You can find their
pictures and stories on our website right
here. Please consider sponsoring a child so they can continue
going to school. A sponsorship is $60 or 50€ per month,
and half-sponsorships are also possible.
The
government had moved the school start from early October to the
beginning of November. A few days ago Paul drove to Dara
with bags full of school supplies to hand out to
our 18 sponsored children in Dara. He went to the elementary school,
where the school director received them and participated
in distributing the bags, books, notebooks, pens, etc. It drew
the attention of everyone, and the other school children
gathered around in envy. Paul was saddened by the
need he saw for all kids to receive supplies. As for our children,
their parents, and the school director, they were all amazed
and overjoyed that we were giving away all these supplies
for free.
Thank
you for making it possible for us to help those in need,
and to send 18 more children to school to give
them a future. We now have 52 children in our sponsorship
program. Only God can make this possible!
TRAVELING
HOME
Austria
is seeing the highest cases of Corona patients
since the pandemic started and has now excluded the unvaccinated
from any events or activities outside of what's necessary for life.
Not being able to go swimming or to the zoo makes me look
forward to returning to our Malian home at the end of the
month even more. And I'm so excited that the Lord has sent us a
retired elementary school teacher to travel to
Mali with us. What a gift! Please pray for Margit;
for her preparations and her time in Mali.
We've
been busy getting ready for our trip, starting to pack our
10 suitcases that will mainly be full of toys and
candy for the children in Mali, as we have a few Christmas
parties with shoe and toy distributions ahead.
Emmanuel is talking about Mali every day, as we
keep saying that this and that is for Mali. I've also told him about
what is in Mali - children, cats, sheep - and he likes to talk about
that a lot. Last Christmas seems so far away now, and I'm not sure
they remember Mali, even though they look at the pictures of our
last time there.
We're
thankful that our church has a big van to drive us to the
airport, but it's still not big enough for 6 people, 11
suitcases plus carry-ons. We're looking for someone with
a car who can come to our house at 3:30 am on November
29th to help get us all to the airport. Please contact
me if you can help.
Please
pray for our trip to Mali, which is not easy with 3 toddlers.
Pray for our arrival in Mali, that everything goes
smoothly, from the visas to customs. Pray also for our time in Mali.
Last year the kids had diarrhea for weeks, and
I'd like for that not to be the case this time.
QUICK
NEWS
- Daily
Blog - If you are not on Facebook but would still like
to read my daily blog about our life (with the triplets),
including pictures, you can do so on our website. Go to https://h2tni.org/blog/.
- Randy's
permit - In June Randy applied for an
extension to his permit to stay in Austria. Half a year later
he has still not received it. Instead he keeps
getting letters asking for more documents, and it's getting more
and more ridiculous. Please pray for the miracle
that he gets the permit before we leave Austria!
- The
Triplets - Had they not been born early, they would have
turned 2 a few days ago. They have just come
out of a whole month of being sick. They
all had angina and took antibiotics (so did Randy
and I), and then Emmy had pneumonia. I'm glad
they are well again, but now Randy is still pretty
sick, after having stayed healthy the longest.
They are all happy and active kids and talk more
and more now. Sammy has a new machine that helps
him stand, and he loves walking but needs help
holding him up so he can do it.
- Security
Situation - We had a coup last year
as well as this year, and it seems unlikley that there will be
elections in February as planned. But insecurity
is rising right now as the French plan to pull
out all their people by the end of the year, which would
be a disaster and could mean that the country
completely spirals out of control. Jihadists
are still a threat, controling big parts of the
country, and always trying to expand their territory.
- Permit
& Deed - After the second coup in June, the government
put everything on hold. Then they started working
again, with new people in place, and now they have stopped
working again. Paul has influential friends and is confident
that we'll have our building permit and title deed soon. Please
pray that they continue working and issue us our papers.
- Schools
- The beginning of the new school year was moved
to early November. Paul has been very busy paying all
the school fees and buying school materials
for our 52 children. This is the most
challenging time of year for us financially, as we need
thousands of dollars/euros at once. We are thankful for your help.
- First-Grade
Teacher - We are still looking for a French-speaking
first grade teacher to join our team. There is such a
need for a good, Christian school where the children are treated
with dignity and learn something.
Many of our Muslim neighbors would send their children to our
school. Please pray we'll find a teacher!
- Malian
Director Paul - Please continue praying for him,
as he carries the weight of the ministry all by himself. Right
now he's extremely busy due to the beginning
of the new school year and can't really focus on anything else.
- Volunteers
- Do you want to come change an orphan's
life? Do you want to heal the sick? Preach
the gospel to those who've never heard? Come to Mali
for a season and let God change your life. No language skills
needed, but French skills are helpful.
True spirituality that is pure in the eyes of our Father God is
to make a difference in the lives of the orphans and widows in their
troubles...
