TRIPLET
PREGNANCY
For
a long time I had a promise to get married, but
the years went by, and I was 41 when this promise
was finally fulfilled in 2015. Then we held on
to a promise together, to have a child, and the
years went by, and nothing was happening, and with every year I
was progressing into my forties, the chances in the natural sank
that it was ever gonna happen. BUT GOD!
On
our 4th wedding anniversary end of February the
pregnancy test came back positive. We were elated!
On the first ultrasound we could see that it was twins!
Awesome God! On the next ultrasound 2 weeks later, there were 3
heartbeats visible! I could hardly believe that we were
having triplets, as one egg had split into two!
Our God is the God who goes beyond anything we can ask or imagine!
I
knew that a triplet pregnancy at 45/46 was
high risk in every way. For that reason we were not allowed
to return to Mali, even for a short time. Instead I had weekly
hospital visits to make sure everything was alright, and
the triplets were developing wonderfully.
In
week 12 I suddenly started having high
blood pressure and was put on medication. I was pumping
twice as much blood in my body than before! In week 24
I did a glucose test and was diagnosed with gestational
diabetes, which I was
high risk for, and is not unusal with multiple babies. After a week
of measuring my blood sugar 4 times a day, I was kept in
the hospital at my weekly check-up, as the numbers were
too high. I was put on insulin, injecting 5 times
a day, and they kept increasing the dosage and wouldn't let me go
home until they were satisfied with the results. I spent nearly
a whole week in the hospital before going home
on August 14, when I was exactly 28 weeks into
my pregnancy.
I
spent a week at home, and my blood sugar numbers were great, thanks
to being able to eat right for gestational diabetes (the hospital
food is horrible). When I returned to the hospital a week later,
my doctor was even shocked at how good my numbers were.
We were gonna set a date for the c-section for September
24th, as they don't go beyond week 34 with triplets. Then
she did the ultrasound - and was worried. Twin 1 had some
issues with blood flow in the umbilical cord which is dangerous.
She told me I had to stay in the hospital (again!).
I was devastated. That was this last Wednesday. They told me the
c-section would be on Friday.
On Thursday I had another ultrasound, and the baby was fine again.
I was told I could go home Friday
if the next ultrasound was also good, and come back Monday for a
check-up. The ultrasound on Friday was like the one when I had to
stay. With the weekend ahead, the c-section was
scheduled for good for Monday,
August 26th, at 9:30 am Austrian time. So today
is my last day to "relax". Tomorrow they are starting
a high dosage IV drip of magnesium that lasts the
24 hours leading up to the c-section; my first stay in the hospital,
my bed neighbor cried the whole time because it made her feel so
bad.
So
please pray for us all, for everything to go well,
so we can welcome our three little ones on Monday! Make sure to
connect with me on Facebook, where I post daily
updates. I will also try to send another email with their pictures
and names soon.
If
you'd like to help us financially, which is really
what we need most right now, after prayer, in America
send a check to our ministry address (in the left column) and write
WILSON in the memo line. In Europe, please make
a transfer to this bank account:

Thank
you all so much! And by the way, we're still waiting for
the government's decision whether Randy gets a permit
to stay in Austria or not.
