TRAVELING
THE USA & SHORT STOP IN VIENNA
The
few weeks we were in the US we attended three conferences
and visited and ministered in a few churches. The Lord
already spoke to me during Patricia King's conference
which was immediately followed by Randy Clark's conference.
On the very last night he called all full-time missionaries
forward to lay hands on them. All week I could feel the
Lord at work in me and when that call came, I had a sense of great
anticipation that God was up to something.
When
Randy Clark and Leif Hetland took my hands to pray
for me, I started manifesting like I hadn't since the heights of
the outpouring in the 90s. I lay on the floor for a long
time with the Lord speaking to me. At this time I will
not tell you more about this profound encounter until
I have seen its fruit back in Mali, so maybe in our next email.
And
yet, I have already seen fruit in my personal life and when I ministered
in my home town of Vienna a few days ago (picture).
And
now, I have such a sense of excitement and anticipation
of what the Lord is going to do as we return to Mali. THIS
is the time for BREAKTHROUGH! It's so near, you
can smell it!
Many
of our friends are surprised at our lack of fear as
we go back, considering we left because jihadists
were planning to attack our base. At the same time, we received
word after word that the Lord is with us, protecting
us and watching over us. If the Lord is with us, who can
be against us?

SHORT-TERM
VISITOR
24
hours after our own return to Mali we have the joy of welcoming
Andrew from Kansas City on our base. It is Andrew's
first missions trip and he is only coming for one week.
Please pray for his time with us to be life-changing.
LONG-TERM
TEAM MEMBER
We
are eagerly awaiting Magda's arrival in a few weeks.
Magda is from Romania and a kindergarten
teacher. She will be a wonderful addition to our team, one that
is very needed. Please pray for her preparation.
Once she arrives in Bamako, I will be teaching her Bambara as she
settles into her new role.
We
are also excited to have an intern from a missions
school come for two months in January. This is
the time to go to Mali!
QUICK
NEWS
- 13-Year
Anniversary - Our Canadian guest speaker for this year's
conference has unfortunately canceled. We have
decided to only have our big celebration on December
10th instead of doing a several-day conference.
- Christmas
in Mali - December is my favorite month in Mali, as we
are trying to make Christmas as special as possible for our children,
especially for those who have never celebrated it before. On the
24th we will be going out for a special chicken
dinner with staff and all our sponsored children, and
on the 26th we'll put on a party for
the street children and neighbors' children, handing
out candy, drinks and shoes and serving them a special meal. Would
you like to help us bless these children?
- Building
#4 - Praise God we have the money to start building the
foundation of the next building! It will serve
as dorms and classrooms for our elementary school
in the beginning, and will be our business and workshop section
later. The Lord has given me faith for it to be finished by next
fall so that our elementary school can start in it then. Total
cost: $99,000 or 84.000€.
- First-Grade
Teacher - We are still looking for a French-speaking
first grade teacher to join our team. There is such a
need for a good, Christian school where the children are treated
with dignity and learn something.
Many of our Muslim neighbors would send their children to our
school. Please pray we'll find a teacher by next fall!
- Security
Situation - The Malian government has not set a new
date for the referendum to change the constitution
that the population is rising up against. Also, Mali is becoming
more and more radicalized by jihadists. I just
read this excellent article about it here.
Please pray for peace, and for protection
from jihadists.
- Sponsor
Needed - We're looking for a half-sponsor for Patrice
(10), our cook's son. If you'd like to enable Patrice
to go to school and be taken care off, a half-sponsorship is $30
or 25€ per month.
- Disciple-Making
Movement - Our groups continue to thrive and multiply,
and we can't wait to see it with our own eyes. This Sunday
we'll be going to Sebela, where we started
a church last year and where the whole city council now consists
of believers in Christ.
- Malian
Leader Paul - Please continue praying for Paul who has
a lot on his shoulders. He has a lot of physical attacks.
Also, we realize more and more that him not living on
the base any more is a huge problem, as he lives a long
way away. Please pray for a solution so he can
live closeby or move back in (which his wife doesn't want).
- Miracle
Baby - Please keep praying for our promised child.
Only God can create life, and nothing is impossible for Him!
- Language
Learning - Randy has been learning French
for the past few months but will join our new team member Magda
in my Bambara class. Please continue praying
for language acquisition.
- My
book in French - My book has already been out in English
and German for years, and now it's only a matter of a few more
weeks or months and the French translation will
be out. Praise God! Please pray for the final stretch.
- Partners
- We're looking for monthly financial partners as we only have
49% of our budget covered by regular monthly
donations.
- Volunteers
- Do you want to come change an orphan's
life? Do you want to heal the sick? Preach
the gospel to those who've never heard? Come to Mali
for a season and let God change your life. No language skills
needed, but French skills are helpful.
Unless
the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the
Lord watches over the city, the guards stand guard in vain. (Psalm
127:1)
