This morning we woke up when the power went out and found our house filled with smoke. We went to the living room which was in flames and could not get out the front there because the door was locked and the key not in the lock. We returned to the bedroom and started screaming for people to come to the window and tear our the bars so we could get out. Burning alive in our house and our lives ending seemed very real and possible. They finally heard us and came, took rocks to try to destroy the bars and its anchoring, and finally got the bars off and we were able to get out. A huge crowd had gathered, watching and pouring water on the fire. We had someone call a taxi and went to the hospital, where they took care of our burns and where we are now resting in a room we share. Paul is trying to take care of things on our base. There is no saying how much we lost and when we can live in it again. For now we're staying at the hospital. I'm not sure if one of our cats is dead, the other one is alive.

I believe the fire started because of an adapter in the power outlet that was defect.

Please pray for us, for healing, but also for finances for hospital and repairs.
