The word of God has much to say about walls. From the wall of Jericho, to the wall around Jerusalem, and the wall in Jesus' parable, to the Lord Himself being the wall around the new Jerusalem. Walls have different purposes. They keep within, and keep out. The enemies are kept out and can be seen from the distance on the walls, so the inhabitants inside can be warned in time. The walls protect them from the enemy. In the Scripture above, the Lord promises Jeremiah to protect him, to make him an unsurmountable wall, for the Lord is His Rescuer. In Zechariah He speaks about the future Jerusalem, how God Himself will be its wall of fire, with His glory within. That reminds me of the vision I had last year, where I saw the fire of God approaching me and the people behind me. I'm not gonna tell the details but in the end His fire and glory surrounded us, and the enemy had no chance of penetrating.

In Ezekiel we see the Lord looking for intercessors who would build walls of protection in the spiritual realm. I've been called to build walls of protection for my children, and all those the Lord has entrusted me with. That also necessitates building walls in the natural. While we want to be an oasis in the desert, a habitation for the glory of the Lord that will draw many into His kingdom, we also need to protect our children and the work of the Lord.

We've started building the wall around our property. It is 254 meters long, i.e. 833 feet. We have the finances to build the first fourth, but still need to money to build the remaining 189 meters, i.e. 620 feet. The wall is supposed to be done by the end of the month, so that we can then build the first of the two houses of the first phase which needs to be done by the end of September when we move.

QUICK NEWS

•       New Car - The paperwork for our new truck is still in progress. Now one of the officers involved was just killed, which adds another delay. Currently we're expecting to have our car by next Wednesday.

•       Dio & Villages - If we do get the car in time, we're going to Dio and the villages that turned to the Lord next week Thursday and Friday. Thursday afternoon we will minister to the kids and single mothers, and at night we will go to one village to show the MATTHEW film. Friday morning we'll go to the other village to preach.

•      Four Visiting Girls - All four are enjoying their time with us, serving and blessing the kids, even though they don't always make that easy. There have been tears, and there has been sickness. Please pray for their remaining time with us.

•     Numerous Crises - Please pray for wisdom and His intervention as I'm dealing with crisis after crisis since my return. I praise God for the peace He's given me in the midst of the storms. He is still the Lord of the storms and in control of everything.

•      USA Trip - I'm leaving for the USA on Aug 9, returning to Mali Sep 18. My path will lead me to California, Georgia, Virginia, Missouri, Kansas and Ohio, visiting friends, sharing and preaching, and attending one of my best friend's wedding.
