All
week we've been trying to fix our 20-year-old car,
and to no avail. On Friday we realized that more work and more money
was needed to get the car up and running again, and that we would
not be able to go to the village on the weekend.
Today
I'm discouraged and dishonored because of that. A revival
has started in Dio, and the pastor has put up the posters
for the public showing of MATTHEW tonight all over
the village. Hundreds of villages were planning to show up. The
mayor and all the other influential people of Dio cleared their
schedules to meet with me. Tomorrow morning I was going to preach
in Enoch's church and ordain him as one of our pastors.
Enoch
has been calling all morning; not only is our reputation in the
village being tainted, but his as well. People don't understand
why you're not coming when you said you would, they just hear that
you're not.
So
I'm deeply grieved and discouraged.
For 3 and a half years I've been praying for a Toyota pick-up like
in the picture. Nearly a year ago the Lord gave us our old Subaru,
and I've been praising Him for it. That car opened doors that were
unreachable without a car. It opened the door to the villages, and
we've seen tremendous fruit as a result.
But
now it's time for this car of promise! A decent
6-year-old Toyota costs about $20,000. If we go
to the coastal city of Lomé in Togo, we can buy one for half
that price there and drive it back.
I'm
storming heaven with this request - nothing is impossible
for HIM! He wants His kingdom to advance in Mali, so I
trust He will provide the means. Please stand with me in prayer,
as my arms are getting weak from holding them up.
If
there is anyone out there, who can help, or knows someone who can
help, or has an idea how to raise this money, I'd be very grateful.
In HIS service,
Claudia
