Seybou
has not come home today. He left at 2 pm to go downtown to pay the
rent for July and never came back. Seybou is my night guard and
"man for everything" around the house, as well as the
one running the errands and paying the bills. He lives on the property
with his wife and two children, and has been with me for nearly
2 years. He's been a Christian for one year.
At
9 pm his wife Fanta came to see me because Seybou still hadn't returned
home. By that time he's always back to do his night job of guarding
the house. Paul and I immediately started praying, while the kids
continued playing. When the time for our nightly "family meeting"
came, we simply invited them to join us praying, and Simeon came
over as well. I had called Seybou's cousin Hassan, who was already
running around visiting family members and friends, looking for
him everywhere. I also informed Emma who came over to take the car
and go to the two hospitals with emergency rooms, as well as the
police. While they were out there, we kept praying. One kid after
the other fell asleep, including Paul. Finally Emma called saying
he wasn't in the hospitals or the 3 police stations where he made
reports of his disappearance. Simeon also left at midnight, and
I prayed on for another half hour alone until Emma's return with
the car.
Where
is he? What has happened? He could have had an accident with his
motorbike. He could have been robbed - he had the rent of $420 with
him. He could have lost the money and be too afraid to come home
(his wife's take). Or he could have taken the money to start over
elsewhere. Unfortunately I can't rule out that option.
In
any case, we're praying for his safety and well-being, and that
we'll find him wherever he is, and whatever the reason he's not
here tonight. We've cancelled school tomorrow morning to keep praying,
and I'm gonna find out whether the rent was paid or not.
Please
join your prayers to ours!
In
HIM,
Claudia
